Family Rules

If you're interested in having your character be related to a canon character within the universe, there are a few simple rules to follow and keep everything running smooth.

It's a good idea to have your character be connected to a canon character, but being blood related doesn't have to be the way they're connected. We recommend taking the time to review your character to see if they really need to be related to a character. Don't worry, we understand the appeal. Most of the Admins have characters related to canon characters.

Be reasonable with your character's backstory if they're related to a canon character. You can't just assume your character has been a part of the show's canon the whole time and that everyone knows them. Immediate family, (i.e. Steven Universe's brother, Zak Saturday's sister), is not allowed. It's recommended that your character be a cousin of the canon character, or another ambiguous distant relative.

There is a list of characters in which your characters can never be related to in any way. The list is as follows.
