Halo Sangster
Name: Halo Sangster
Title: The Gauntlet of Unity
Age: 19
Ethnicity: African American
Race: Human
Allegiance: Villains. Longs to join the Heroes.
Origins: Maledetto
Powers:
"Earth-Bending" - Halo has the ability to take control of the earth around her. She can make chunks of the ground fly into the air, control tree branches and such, etc. This power mocks that seen in Avatar, with Earth-Benders. High.
Creation - Halo is able to make chunks of earth appear in thin air, however it is only used as a last resort. Conjuring a brand new piece of earth takes a lot out of her and could possibly kill her if done more than twice within a two hour period. Low.
One With Nature - Not so much a power as it is a power enhancer. Whenever Halo is in the Wilds or the Darklands, her abilities are strengthened. This is due to the heavy plant-life in the areas. Medium in Wilds, but Low in the Darklands.
Strengths:
-Halo is a very loyal individual, and always aims to please her superiors. She tries to be a shoulder to cry on when needed.
-Since she is always surrounded by earth, Halo can use her powers everywhere. This includes manipulating the earth under cement and building, etc.
-Halo is quick to react to tough situations. While her solutions are more than likely violent, they work out in her favor. She no longer fears taking risks, as such, she is quick to risk everything to solve a problem.
Weaknesses:
-Halo can be too nice. She begin to come off as a Teacher's Pet in order to get on your good side, but she has good intentions. This can lead to her seeming annoying, or even lead to making her easy to walk over. Once she's friends with someone, she'll believe what they tell her, even if it's false, so being nice to everyone could, and probably will, harm her.
-Halo cannot swim. Now while this does seem like a generic weakness, Halo's powers are significantly weaker if she is wet. This follows the "Water beats Rock" trope in Pokemon. Her powers are disabled and useless if she is completely submerged in water.
-Halo has a lot of repressed memories from her time spent with Professor Rosencrantz. At mention of the name, she enters a full body shut down and begins to panic! at the Disco. This can cause her to be completely useless in situations.
Personality: Halo Sangster comes off an introvert. You would think she'd keep to herself after the time she spent with Professor Rosencrantz, but she tends to open up within minutes of speaking to her. From this point, Halo is a sassy, little ball of joy who tends to be a bit of butt-kisser. She likes to be on everybody's good side, and attempts to make everyone, especially those older than her, like her no matter what it takes.
Halo's sassy side often comes off as arrogant, when she really isn't. She doesn't like to upset people, out of fear they'll treat her like Rosencrantz did, so when her sassiness goes too far, she becomes a Sorry-Bot, spewing out apologizes like no-tomorrow. Even after the other party has accepted her apologize, she tends to continue to say sorry for her actions.
However, since Halo's brain is destroyed, she tends to close up and appear to shut-down. This process occurs at random and leads Halo to become close to a vegetable, since she cannot make herself do simple functions. This is when she really shows to be an introvert.
History: Townsville was just the place for young and single Devan Sangster. He moved there right after graduating college and began to pursue a career in law. It was in that line of work where he met Tamara, or as he liked to call her, Future Mrs. Sangster.
And that she was! The two instantly clicked and fell in love. And, you know as they say! First comes love, then comes marriage. Then comes a baby in a baby carriage! Devan and Tamara were proud to give birth to Halo in 2029. She was everything they could have ever asked for.
The Sangsters raised Halo in a high rise apartment in Townsville. She grew up like any other normal child. She went to school, she made friends, and she collected Sumo Slammer cards. She loved herself some Sumo Slammer.
In 2040, the Nanite Event occurred, infected every living being on the Earth with nanites. This included Halo and her father. Only 9 months after the Event, Halo's parents were in a terrible car accident. The accident killed Tamara, but activated Devan's nanites, giving him the power to manipulate and control machines. He was able to control his powers, keeping him sane and looking normal.
Devan was devastated by Tamara's death, as was Halo. After learning about his new found powers, Devan was determined to protect Halo no matter what, as he couldn't lose the most important girl in his life. It was also around this time that Professor Franklin Benson Rosencrantz went public with his findings. This man claimed that he knew how to manually active a person's nanites. Learning of this Devan thought that he wanted Hope to be able to protect herself if he wasn't around, and that she needed powers like him.
At only 12 years old, Halo became one of Professor Rosencrantz's youngest experiments. Professor Rosencrantz made himself out to be a saint, and that he would take great care of her while awakening her Nanites. The last time Halo spoke to her father was when he said goodbye to her.
Not much is known of what happened behind closed doors. Halo did indeed have her Nanites activated, at the cost of her sense of smell. She was given a gauntlet as a weapon, and named The Gauntlet of Unity. In order to keep her from using her new Earth Elemental powers all willy-nilly, Rosencrantz locked her up for nearly four years. It wasn't until she was 16 years old until she was able to leave Rosencrantz's twisted facility.
The Professor left her cell open after he had his way with her one night, letting her escape. Once in the open world, she vowed that she could never go back to her father, since she felt like she was a completely different person. She did however, do her research. She found out her father lived in Endsville now, and assumed he thought she was never coming back.
Halo moved into her old apartment, and she only used her powers when Fusions, who invaded while she was in Rosencrantz's "care," attacked her. Other than that, she walled herself inside her apartment. It wasn't until recently she began to start going outside more often. She was becoming more comfortable with herself, and she didn't feel like a robot.
Currently, Halo still sits inside often, but she likes to go out to get milkshakes and to make trips to the library. She is often seen visiting her mother's grave.
Do you use Nanos: No.
Fun Facts!:
-Halo is left-handed.
-Halo lost her sense of smell as a result of Rosencrantz's experiments.
-She is in the process of losing her hearing, also a result of the experiments.

Could you expand on the teachers pet weakness a bit more?

Re: Halo Sangster
Seems fitting that I give the first approval for a Maledetto.
