ORIGINS


Magic

Magic can come from many different origins. Magic can be in any shape, size, or power conceivable.

Schools- This is your magical affinity. If you are a fire user, you from from the School of Pyro. This accounts for all other magical powers. A person cannot be in two schools at the same time.
Magical Inheritance/Affinity- If someone was born into a family who has a past of magic they can have a magical inheritance. This allows them to cast magical spells of all kinds though the level they can cast them is dependent on how far back this Magical Inheritance has gone. Magical Affinity is the same as inheritance though it is rare as it is when someone who doesn’t have any Magical Inheritance or very little still can cast magical spells. People with magical affinity however can only cast low level spells.
Mana- Very similar to Gwen Tennyson learning how to use mana is a rather rare occurrence for the human race. All lifeforms have mana but the human race, like other alien races cannot control their mana or even know they have it. Gwen Tennyson controls her mana due to her inheritance from her Grandmother who is from another alien race, a race which has strong control over their mana. Every being has the same potential to learn mana but must go through a large sum of training that takes years of dedication, if not their whole life.

Schools

Pyro- The users of this school has the ability to control fire and heat. They can create it or manipulate fire already formed. They can raise the temperature around them.
Hydro-Cryo- The users of this school has the ability to control, generate or absorb water. They can even breathe underwater for an hour. They can cool the temperature around them, as well as create ice particles and use ice as an attack.
Geo- The users of this school had the ability to control elements of the earth, such as: sand, stone, rock, dirt, or other minerals.
Aero- The users of this school has the ability to control, absorb, and generate wind currents, along with hovering.
Electro- The users of the realm has the ability to control, generate, or absorb electrical currents. They can even travel through the electrical currents up to 10 miles a trip.
Noctem- The users from this school has the ability to manipulate the darkness. This allows them to manipulate shadows, travel relatively unnoticed during the night, and have better vision in the dark. They are identified by a shadow-like outline around their person that is noticeable when it is dark.
Lux- The user of this school has the ability to use light and control it. They can use their powers to make defensive shells and some basic offensive attacks. They are identified by a glow that outlines their body that is noticeable in the day.
Bota- The users of this school are able to talk with plants and use their natural energies to heal others.

With the introduction of Toadblatts, we now introduce schools of non-elemental magic.

Illusion- With this you can create illusions to trick your foes into missing or getting lost. You can not however control them
Stronghold- Mostly defensive spells that will help you in fighting, don't over rely on them.
Techno- A new magic branch that uses magic and tech together, but not much research into this branch is known.
Mending- You basically know how to heal, use those skills well to help your friends.
Attack Fortification- These spells increase your power for a limited time, but just be warned, you won't fell well after use.
Transmuting- You can transforms small objects into other object, but not people. Also lead into gold isn't possible, that is a myth.
Elementalist/Shaman- You're able to use many different type of elements, but since your a master of none, you can't have high powered attacks nor can you have two spells of the same element.
Sound- Also a rather new branch of magic, this uses sound to confuse people and or make them hurl their cookies. Don't try for the brown note, its a myth. Please note, that some people who use this branch become bards, who can use their voice to entice others.
Magnetism- Another new form of magic. With this branch you can twist and shape metal and change them into new objects. You'll do well with a smithy. Just avoid people with metal bones.
Curses and Jinxes- This branch of magic allows you to cause terrible fates to befall your foes, including bad luck and clumsiness. You can also turn stronghold magic users into weakhold magic users.

Types

Runes are stones and other objects enchanted with symbols to give users some powers. Gwen and Hope have been known to use them in the past. Gwen even used them as Lucky Girl. Runes have amazing power, each with its own power. Some can be combined to create more powerful effects, but it takes time for them to be pulled. Runes powers are affected by the list of powers that can't be used. Here is a list of runes available so far.

E.V.O.s have active nanites and thus have a wide range of abilities. People like Rex are unique and others people can not have the ability to cure EVOs. Characters should not have like 3 elements like fire, ice and lighting since that would make them too powerful.

Aliens can be a full alien and the user must tell where they are from and must be a confirmed with in the Ben10 universe. Or the character can be like Allen, Darkstar and Kevin and be half and half, with more limits to their abilities (such as Allen’s limited ability to transform). See here for a list of aliens.

Imaginary Friends created from the imagination of their owners, many of these Friends have found themselves at Foster's Home, waiting for a new owner to adopt them so they can make their children happy. While most do not fight in the war, they are a major target for Fusions, but at the same time, their magic seems to have an influence over Fusions and also seems to be able to harm or, in cases of the Cul-de-Sac, repel Fusions.

Demons come from the Underworld, generally. Some demons are born on the Earth surface. There is a demon family that rules the Underworld, though they have been out of their ruling for years. Aku and Him are the most powerful and most noteworthy demons in the world. For more information, please go here.

Vampires are a sub-category of Demons. These creatures are considered to be immortal, meaning they will never die of old age. However, Vampires can be killed by any outside cause such as murder or illness. Because of their supernatural affinity, they also possess great power and strength in comparison to humans. Cyborgs are beings (humans, aliens, etc) who have mechanical parts added to their body to either replace a missing piece of the body, or to enhance their performance. People can willingly give up a part of their body to receive what they feel is an "upgrade" while others go to replace what they had lost. A some famous cyborgs are the Scotsman and Hoss.
What is not allowed in this origin: Tortured experimentations are not allowed. Those are a dime a dozen, and really unnecessary in this forum. For further clarifications on whether or not your OC is within the guidelines, send an RP Coordinator a pm, and we'll let you know.

Nanidroids are sentient beings made completely of nanites. They were created by members of the nanite project and have different powers. All of them were given a two digit ID code corresponding to the order in which they were created to better keep track of them. These codes are usually printed in red on their upper arm from "birth." They can also tell when another Nanidroid is close by. Each one has a distinct signal so they can tell which one is close. Only twelve exist, no more.
Note: As of now, Only Sierra is the only actively known nanidroid.

Voluntas is a will amplifier and not something someone is born into. They were specifically made not only to condense strong willpower but use it as a sort of weapon or creation. When you first are handed one you have to envision what you want it to be and you channel your willpower to create such a thing. The downside is that once you think of a creation, you can never alter it, it will stay the same every time you use that specific Voluntas. And another downside... the Voluntas were created only for the De Laga family, which was the family to invent them in the first place.

Created Minions are experiments done by Mojo Jojo to create his minion army. These experiments used to be chimpanzees before Mojo rounded them up (mostly from the local zoos) and turned them into more intelligent beings. These minions have no powers, and they are also not capable of bonding with a Nano. Their only purpose in life is to obey Mojo's commands. So far, the only known created minions are Mojo's Monkey Minions.

Maledettos are humans that have given up at least one of their senses in order to gain power. They were created by the experiments of Professor Franklin Benson Rosencrantz to be weapons that could bring peace to the world and thus were given a weapon title once they reawoken into the world. They have mastery over a tangible element and in addition to losing one of their senses, their right hand also becomes one with the element they have power over. Their nanites are dead now, meaning more brain damage could be discovered later down the line. For more info, please refer to this page.

POWERS THAT CANNOT BE USED IN RP EVER
In an effort to avoid Mary-Sueing/Gary-Stuing, here is a list of the powers that are not allowed:
• Curing EVOs
• Massive teleporting
• Transforming into large machines
• Controlling all machines
• Invulnerability
• Massive psychic abilities (No mind control, no memory manipulation, no hypnotic spells, no lifting buildings or cars, no precognition)
• Limited use of fire and other elements (unless you’re from the school; no natural disasters or acts of god)
• NO OMNIPOTENCE OR OTHER OMNI ABILITIES (you can’t have all abilities)
• No mass time (be it time travel or warping) or reality warping
• No power negation, bestowal, augmentation, or mimicry
• No inhuman strength, especially if you have no powers whatsoever
• No eternal life
• No impenetrable defenses
• No animal powers of any kind (minus super-sight or super-hearing)
• No soul collecting or soul detection, that is Grim's and Demongo's area
• No transforming into animals
• Gem powers
