Townsville Center Stage

Everan flushed slightly

"I wasn't-! I mean, yeah, they're kinda- But no, it was cause-"

Everan sighed. And once he got in place behind Amp said, "Whatever, thanks for the assist back there, man."

"Eh, don't worry about it. I know talking to cute girls is a thing people have problems with sometimes. Or, I've heard that anyway. I wouldn't know, I tend to talk unen-...unin...un...ah, what is that word?"

Amp scratches the back of his head, before shrugging and pulling out a pair of binoculars, looking around for a high vantage point to view the show from once it starts.

"Whatever. I just mean, talking for me is easy. Obviously."

"Uh-huh, it was the 'cute' girls tripping me up back there."

Everan watches as Amp pulls out the binoculars. So the guy can teleport, produce obejects from... somewhere, and has bad memory. Impressive.

Everan taps Amp on the shoulder, and uses his other hand to point up to the bridge that runs straight above the sunken mall, "Hey, it's a little far back, but you could see the whole stage from up there."

"Ha ha, excellent! Hold onto your lunch."

With that brief warning, Amp grabs Everan and warps them both onto the bridge in a sitting position, feet dangling over the edge.

"Also maybe don't look down."

"Hold on to my wha-oAH! Okay then!" Everan exclaimed.

One second he was down there and now he's here and... This wasn't what he expected when he woke up today. Everan bobbed for a moment, steadying himself on the ledge. He shivered for a second. Lots of new experiences lately.

Once he had his bearings, Everan turned to Amp and put out his hand, "I think I'll introduce myself properly this time. My name's Everan, I'm still new around here."

Amp takes the hand and shakes vigorously.

"Amp. But you knew that. I think. I'm also new in town, kinda sorta. I'm always moving around so I'm kinda always new everywhere."

"The kid in the blue hair seemed super cool." Maya grins to Belladonna.

"You're ridiculous, M." Belladonna sighed. "And I'm the newbie?"

During the exchange, the rest of the Gangreen Gang arrive on the scene. Grubber and Big Billy carry equipment to the stage as Lil' Arturo and Snake push some carts of junk alongside them. Ace walks in the rear, noticing Belladonna and Maya and walking over to them. "Well, well, well, what are my girls doin' over here?"

Maya stands up straight, both her and Belladonna smiling at Ace. "Oh, we were going to set up early, but we met some new... pals!"

Everan shakes along with their hands. Amp's surprisingly strong for his size. Afterwards he steadies himself on the railing, still shaking a little.

"That sounds a little lonely. Hey, know what? If you're still in this town for awhile, we should make sure to meet up again," Everan says as he pulls his bag around and begins to rummage through it, "You got a phone? I can give you my number."

Amp pulls out his nanocom, tongue sticking out the side of his mouth, exchanging numbers with Everan.

"Sick, my guy. Now lemme just find..." Everan glances into his bag, confused, "Wait, I just had them here a minute ago."

He continues to check pocket after pocket. Each one leaving him just a little bit more distressed. Eventually, realization hits him. The sticky notes from earlier,

"My business cards!" he groans, "I must've dropped 'em in the hubbub..." He sighs, and shrugs, pulling out his phone, "Oh well, let me tell it to you then..."

With that done, Everan put his stuff back and looks towards the stage, "Looks like the gang, literally, is all here. So are you a fan of theirs, or is this your first exposure?"

"Never even heard of 'em before today!" Amp says, hoppinng up and down on his butt excitedly. "Makes it all the more exciting, y'know, like mystery meat."

Everan laughs to himself, stunned and fascinated by his new... What? His friend? Companion? His new acquaintance? Whatever Amp was, at least he's good company.

"Yeah, I think mystery meat is an accurate way to describe their music, actually."

Ace picks up the pad of sticky notes as Maya talks, grimacing at them. "Some spitwad left their junk on the stage." He grumbles as he shoves the sticky notes into his jacket's pockets. "Whatever. C'mon, girls. We're gonna start tuning."

"Right!" Belladonna replies to Ace, latching onto his arm to walk off with him.

Maya hesitates, looking back to wave to Amp and Everan with a big smile before looking back to Yumi. "We should collab sometime. You shred!" Maya says with another big smile, then latches onto Ace's other arm to join the band.

"And sometimes that mystery meat is actually pretty nice; check out the stage," Everan adds. He waves back to Maya before giving her a thumbs up for good luck.

"Maybe I made two new friends today," he thinks with a smile.

"Yeah sure. Maybe in a week or so." Yumi answers, not really wanting to jam with this weird green skin weirdo, but she might not have a choice if Kaz had any say.

The gaggles of green teenagers began to set up their equipment, strumming their instruments and humming into the microphones. Every so often, Maya would catch a glance at the crowd to wave, only to be stopped by either Belladonna or Ace. Lil' Arturo wanders off with some flyers in his hands.

Amp hops excitedly and returns Maya's wave with a grin.

"It feels good to be noticed, yeah?"

Everan paused to think about that. Noticed. The last time he had this kind of interaction was... months ago, at least. Back when he lived in Bellwood. His smile got a bit cheerier,

"Yeah. But don't count yourself out, I think she was looking at you more than me," he teased, as he lightly elbowed Amp.

Amp tilts his head curiously, looking from Everan to Maya.

"You think so? Huh. Wonder why that is."

People start to fill into the audience, including a group of Imaginary Friends led by Bloo. The small blob carries a flyer for the free show in his hands. "You guuuuuuuuuuuuys!" Bloo complains. "I told you we should've left earlier to get front seats! How will I ever be able to enjoy the music if I'm not PRESSED AGAINST THE SPEAKERS!?"
