Tsukiya Tenobushi
Name: Tsukiya Tenobushi
In costume is known as Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Resistance, or Resistance.
Age: 23
Ethnicity: Asian-American
Race: Human
Allegiance: Good
Powers: Due to him being human, he doesn’t have powers. However, he does have the code-driver, a special waist mounted tool that works by the use of special cards used to grant him abilities and armours. While it may look inconvenient an clucky, it’s quite easy to carry around since the belt compacts into it and only comes out when place against someone’s waist.
While the code-driver itself is technological, the cards themselves are a mystery to him. His current theory is that they're of a magical origin due to something I'll explain in a moment.
The driver has a simple function, by pulling on the sides of the buckle, it opens by the center piece spins to put the card slot on the top. When a card is placed into it it announces the type of card and then the specific card once the driver is closed again. It announces the attacks with an echoey, deep, robotic voice.
His cards are split into 4 different varieties:
Strengths:
1. His arrogance can tend to rile people up, often times getting people to say more than they intended to. This helps him get information when he's looking for it or even skip some of the trivialities of socialising.
2.He’s a talented photographer (when he remembers to change film rolls…).
3. He’s a jack of all house hold trades, raised to be diligent and self sufficient, he's a good chef and great at making a place look good.
Weaknesses:
1. He acts stand-offish and tends to push people away, leading to him looking like a jerk and just feeling lonely most of the time.
2. He’s obsessive about photography. He has a dedicated portion of his already small apartment into being a black room and has actually questioned doing the right thing if it would damage his camera.
3. He’s a bit impish and has a childish side to him, meaning that he likes to annoy people for fun sometimes. Thus has led to him being a bother for both friend and foe.
Personality: Tsukiya’s pretty much a large child, an angsty, sassy child. Granted, he does have a proper level of maturity, it's just that he can tend to hold grudges and be prejudicial. He has an air of arrogance to him and sometimes acts like he's better than everyone else. But even though he acts like that on the outside, on the inside he's a sweetheart (but he'll never admit it).
He has a leniency towards helping people and following his idea of good, but he usually makes excuses for it. Two of his favorite excuses are “It would have just been a bother if you got hurt" and "I was just passing through."
A long with that, he has a dream to capture the world in his camera. So his harder outer personality is related to the fact that, despite his efforts, his pictures don't come out clearly, to him it’s as though the world hasn't accepted him.
The best course of action with him is to either put up with his remarks and self confidence until you warm up to him, or pester him enough until he puts up with you. If you do put the time into getting to know him, you'll have a friend who'll be loyal until the end.
On a side note, he's not surprised by much and is a little too used to the more insane parts of the world.
Do you use nanos: They don't work after he's transformed so he hasn't invested time into finding any he could use.

His cards are split into 4 different varieties:
- Kamen Ride Cards:
- Kamen Ride Cards are are the different suits he has. They grant him some boosts and have attached abilities. If he sustains enough damage in any form he could be forced into his base form or even forced into untansforming.
* His base form, Resistance acts a simple armour that gives him a enough of an enhancement to strength and durability that he can go head to head with most opponents so long as he doesn't act rashly.
* Hibiki: this is the first example of a Kamen Ride Card outside of his base form, those kinds of cards don't change his entire suit, instead they change his mask and add a jacket like piece over his armour. Hibiki has the theme of an oni and is an unzipped jacke, it gives him an slight increase to his strength and defense against magic but at the cost of decreasing his defense.
* Fourze: Fourze is the only form where the only part uncovered by the jacket is under the hood. Fourze is a space themed form and the jacket is like a parka. Fourze increases his defense but at the cost of slowing him down.
* Kabuto: Kabuto is themed after a robotic beetle, and aside from Fourze’s full body parka, is the only form to cover the entire arm. Kabuto increases his speed at the cost of his upper body strength.
* Double: Double’s theme is 2-in-1, so each half of the suit is different, the jacket is zipped up and has long coattails. The right side of the suit is green and create winds that can push back opponents and decrease the speed of descent at the cost of that half of the suit being incredibly physically weak. The left side of the suit is black and, contrast with the right, does not give any special powers but is incredibly strong.
- Attack Ride Cards:
- The next type of cards are Attack Ride Cards. Attack Ride Cards activate special attacks or abilities for the form they're associated with. Besides one card, these cards can only be used with the form they're associated with. Not all forms have Attack Rides.
CoderMachine: the CoderMachine is the only card that is not associated with a specific rider and can be used when untransformed. This card just summons the CoderMachine, a motorcycle themed after his base form. The bike isn’t that strong and just sort of disintegrates if it gets too damaged.
Ongekibon-Rekka: While in Hibiki form, this card summons a pair of red drum sticks with the face of an oni on top of it. He uses these to fight with.
Rocket On: While using Fourze, he can use this to equip a rocket onto either arm. The rocket can be used for mobility or attack. It come at the risk of him temporarily losing one hand and having a large, clunky, orange rocket instead. The rocket is not good for confined spaces.
Drill On: As Fourze, this card will replace one of his feet with a drill. One the plus side; his foot is now a weapon. On the downside; the drill tends to get stuck in the floor.
Start Up: In the Kabuto form, he’ll start a five minute charge up sequence that disables him from using the code-driver at all.
Clock Up: Once the Start Up sequence ends, he can use this card to slow down time for one minute, making it seem like he’s moving at super speed. His abilities in Kabuto form are completely unaffected, he’s just really fast for a minute.
Clock Down: This card just makes him exit Clock Up earlier than the one minute mark.
- Final attack ride:
- Final Attack Ride Cards are a little self explanatory, they’re final attacks. They're quite draining and only leave him a few moments before forcing him to untransform.
For Resistance and Kabuto the final attack is a surge of energy that enters into his right leg that he uses to jump high before kicking down on the opponent.
In Hibiki form energy forms around the target and he can use it as a drum for the Ongekibon-Rekka, but if he doesn't have them out he'll do the same attack as Resistance and Kabuto.
As Fourze both of his hands and legs will be equipped with a rocket and drill and he'll do a kick using those.
As Double, he uses the rights sides wind to lift him up before shooting himself down and kicking with his left leg
- Final Kamen Ride Card:
- Lastly, is the Final Kamen Ride card. This card and the vary from the other cards in how the driver announces them,
Example: Double's would Kamen Ride card goes; Kamen Ride: Double! While it's Final Attack would be; Final Atack Ride: D-D-D-Double!
a single card that's usually blank. It's purpose is to act as a way for him to do team up attacks with other characters.
The Final Kamen Ride Card fills in from time to time when Tsukiya needs it. When it's needed it will fill in with the name and an image of whoever he's teaming up with. Its use can range from a temporary restoration of his teammates power to letting him mimic their ability for a final attack. It doesn't activate often, but when it does, then you know somebody’s in for a grand finale.
- Appearance:
- Street clothes:
- Kamen Rider Resistance:
- Kabuto Form:
- Hibiki Form (Plus ongekibou):
- Fourze Form (With rocket):
- Double Form:

On a side note, he's not surprised by much and is a little too used to the more insane parts of the world.
- History:
- Born in Japan to the aristocratic Tenobushi family, Tsukiya had a very easy childhood. He was constantly protected from threat of attack, never had to worry about bullies since he was homeschooled, and never had to question anything since all that he knew was his. His world which started and ended with durable white walls that could withstand anything was all that he needed. And he was okay with this. What most would find a painful repetitive cycle was all that he wanted back then.
His father was rarely around during his developmental years, so Tsukiya was cared for by servants and body guards. While as a baby that would have been an easy job for anyone, it went down hill very quickly. As though it were genetics, Tsukiya gained a bit of his fathers corrupted heart. He would play pranks and toy with the workers around the house and see how far he could take things. He kept this up with every server until he met her.
Tsukiya, to this day, has never met his own mother. Until the age of 10 never even had a maternal figure. At the age of 10 a new servant had been brought in. She was assigned to accompany Tsukiya, to teach him and care for him, her name was Tori. Tori taught him about everything he knows. Whether it be to cook or basic math, she was there to show him. She was the only person who wouldn't put up with his pranks and would set him straight. Because of that, she's kind of the base for Tsukiya's moral code.
Her lessons are his only fond memories from that house. She also taught him about photography. She had taken photos of locals all over the country and he loved to admire them. His favorite photos, and the only two of hers that he kept, are one of the two of them and another of her and her family.
He misses Tori. After the initial invasion, Tori was let go and Tsukiya was forced to take care of more family matters.
His family had begun to push funds into amending the damages of the fight in order to keep their public reputation. It was because of that that Tsukiya was brought in. It was during his teenage years that he saw more of the world that he had learned to love through photographs, but now through a darker lens. Seeing what his family did, seeing who their “enemies” were, knowing that it was generation after generation that committed these crime. He was sickened.
To foreigners and newcomers, the Tenobushi family is a rich and caring family seeking only to help the world prosper. The truth is that the family has deep roots in military sciences, helping villains, and exploiting the weak.
Eventually, he tired of this, always watching his father's plans be foiled by whatever hero decided to appear. Eventually, he left as an act of rebellion. On his way out, he stole the code-driver and the Rider Cards from a lab where they were being analyze as well as a small fortune to support himself.
He’s been in America for two years now, and has made a name for himself. Online, his photography is known for its “daring new way of capturing the human spirit”, in all actuality he just keeps double exposing his film by accident (he hates the results but the small fanbase he’s gained loves it, he doesn’t know why.). Meanwhile, he’s made appearances in small time news stations, newspapers, and theory videos because of his alter ego; Kamen Rider Resistance. He doesn’t want to act like a public hero, but he’s been stepping up more and more often.
Right now he lives in a small apartment on the city, taking part time jobs as Tsukiya and, having convinced the owner to not reveal his identity, takes bounty work from Estroy’s.
Do you use nanos: They don't work after he's transformed so he hasn't invested time into finding any he could use.

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
While you are still needing to work on it, i'll go into a few things i see.
You're going to have to explain why being a jack of all trades is a strength, but to me if this is a strength, the master of none, can't not be a weakness. We'll see how the other mods feel on it.
Explain how he is able to get those villains trust him and what not. Since he is someone who is good with photography, why not make that a strength?

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
I added some of those changes you mentioned, Zero, and a bit more. The suit designs aren't a hundred percent yet, but hopefully this is enough to go off for now.
I hope it's to you're liking!

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
I do have to ask, are the suits and change on them heavily inspired by the kamen rider series?

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
now how is being impish in his childish and playful nature a weakness? Explain please and there is nothing in the history to indicate this kind of thing either.

I added why it was a weakness and integrated into his background.

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
alright, next, how is him being jaded by the world affect his mind set as whole and how does it cause it to be a weakness? Seeing the heroes grow up and nothing surprises him doesn't exactly jive with being jaded.

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
The more I thought about it, that wasn't really a weakness, so I stuck it the end of personality and added a new weakness

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
I don't know anything about the Kamen Rider series, but how is your character and their abilities your own? Or is it essentially a copy-paste from the series?
Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
Oh nonono, I don't want to make him seem copy pasted! He's supposed be an homage that can fit into the story of the role play.
So to answer your question, Tsukiya's origins are all original, but the powers and the designs of his other forms are based on official riders.
And on the topic of those powers, on a more explained level I've kept each form to a more specific gimmick than the rider they were based off of. So while the riders they're based off are meant to function on their own, I took the base ideas of each and made them so that they would function to give a varied group of options on how to handle each situation, while still making sure to keep the themes of each one.
( I hope that's not too long and rambley! I just want to get the point across.)

Re: Tsukiya Tenobushi
Even as an homage to the shows, you can take influence from it, but forms and designs should not be purely from it. Mix things up so the influence is there, but there is a bit of your own thing to it as well.
(hope this makes sense in some way)

Actually, I get it! I'm gonna need a bit of time to come up with the designs, but I'm sure I can do it! I'll update it as soon as I have something to show.
But beyond the designs, is there anything else that sticks out?

I think that was the major point of contention. I'll let you know if there is other stuff.
