Zakary Banks
Name: Zakary Banks
Age: 19
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Allegiance: Neutral
Origins: Magic User
Powers: Ability to wield fire as an extension of his blade. When triggered by extreme anger or other emotions of the like, his body and weapon become engulfed in a translucent black "flame", in which his body becomes more physically able, but he loses control of his actions. He identifies this as his "Eclipse" state.
In his regular state, most of his attacks revolve around the use of his broadsword which, upon his command, can be lit on fire. They are pretty much what you'd expect out of someone who wield a sword.
In his Eclipse state, Zak becomes stronger, being able to lift heavy objects and deal more devastating blows. He also becomes quicker, both with his blade (as a result of his increased strength) and his feet, making his ability to evade attacks higher. However, during this state, he loses a sense of finesse. Due to this, he has a higher likelihood of missing his attacks. He also loses some of his attentiveness, leaving him more open for attacks when his back is turned.
Appearance: Deep green hair that is spiked up at the top but is also slightly messy, blue eyes, white v-neck t-shirt, black hoodie, jeans with a torn left knee, white socks, white and green sneakers with several stains along the side of them. He has a scar on his eye from a nasty hit (which will be explained later). Often has stubble.
Strengths: Skilled with his hands as both a fighter and a worker. Works extremely well under pressure. Has a strong personal drive that helps him get things done in minimal time.
Weaknesses: Tends to let his emotions get the best of him, leading to his anger impeding his decision making often. In combat, he can be a bit slow due to his large broadsword. Isn't exactly the most friendly person out there, to say the least.
Personality: Reserved, does not talk to anyone unless he has to. Very rarely is he ever in a happy mood. Easily angered and annoyed, does not stand for disrespect. Strong sense of morality and honor, in a sense, which makes him dislike many aspects of the world due to its dishonest way of running. Sympathizes strongly for innocent things. Micromanager, does not trust anyone but himself (which he even struggles to trust at times). Tends to reach depressive states at times due to a dark past. Greatest fear is death. His biggest want is love, but he's never found someone worthy to pursue it in his eyes. Deep down, however, he holds a kindness unlike many others. It rarely comes out, though. Not very good at interaction, tends to have trouble making friends/allies. Operates as a bit of a lone gun, and even while completing tasks for others, mainly works for his own purpose.
History: Born to a lower-middle-class family as the middle child. Lives in Pokey Oaks South. Per the middle child stereotype, he received very little attention as he grew in age. Despite this, he held a great love for his family. His brother, Jeff, who is about 3 years older than him, served as somewhat of a mentor, as his father rarely had the time to talk to him and his mother spent all her time focusing on his sister, Carly, who is about 4 years younger than Zak.
In elementary school, Zak was often excluded from activities by his peers because he was "weird", as they called it. In reality, he just struggled to fit in. During his alone time (which came often), he would write stories about how, one day, he would become a great hero and his courage would be admired by those who once spit on him. As he got older, the children no longer picked on him, but just did not interact with him, treating him like he was invisible. He didn't mind this, as it finally took weight off his back. It was around this time that he realized that he truly wanted to do good, and as such, he began to train himself to reach the physical levels he so desired. After around a year, he was ahead of his own schedule. He had just turned 14, and around this same time, the war with Planet Fuse seemed imminent. He thought that, maybe, he could put his skills to the test.
His parents forbade him from involving himself in the war, so against their word, he geared himself up over the next month in order to fight the threat. Once Fuse touched down, his minions launched an offensive against Pokey Oaks North, taking refuge in the Junior High there. Zak went out to fight the invaders, but upon reaching Pokey Oaks, he witnessed his brother, Jeff, being held by a fusion wielding a blade. The fusion looked Zak in the eyes, but Zak could not muster up the courage to save his brother. As such, the fusion slit Jeff's throat, leaving him to die. He stood there, motionless, and in this period of idleness, he was captured by Fusion Blossom and thrown into a pit of fire.
After being unconscious for some time, he opened his eyes seeing nothing but flames surrounding him. Somehow, he remained okay, and found his way out of the pit. Around him, however, laid the dead bodies of several warriors who had also been bested in combat, including his brother, Jeff. By Jeff's side laid a blade he had never seen before, a broadsword of decent length and girth. Immediately, he picked up the sword, and upon picking it up, it engulfed in flame, much to his surprise. After testing it out, he realized it was because of him, not the blade. It was heavy at the time, but he was able to survive with it. As he began to escape from Pokey Oaks North, he caught sight of the very fusion who murdered his brother, and was filled with a rush of emotion that filled his senses. He lost all control of his actions, but at the same time, became a killing machine, slicing through enemies like melted butter until he reached the fusion, which he identified as Fusion Jack. They fought, Zak in his new state of mind, until Jack landed a near fatal blow on Zak's face. Zak reared back, and in this moment, Jack was able to escape.
The next few years were spent trying to hone in these new abilities and understand why he had them. After tracing his bloodline, he realized that his great grandfather was rumored to have been a master of the flame, which must have been passed down to him. Eventually, he understood that the state was caused by extreme fits of emotion, most often anger.
As time passed on and his family began to move on from the passing of his brother, he began to bond with his sister, Carly, and spent more time with her. When Zak was around 18, following his family's move from Pokey Oaks South to Orchid Bay, he and Carly went on an adventure to Morbucks Towers, which was then being renovated. There, Carly had an encounter with King Morbucks, who pressed her to become what seemed like a slave of his. She refused, and in a fit of rage, King Morbucks sent two of his henchmen to attack Carly. Upon seeing this, Zak ran to her defense, killing one of the two henchmen and scaring off the other. He and Carly then fled back to their home in Orchid Bay.
It wasn't long before King Morbucks sent the police after Zak, and due to King Morbucks' large influence both socially and economically, there was no hope for justice. Zak was tried and convicted of murder, sentenced to 40 years in prison. However, Zak had other plans. After spending three months in prison, he met a man named Ace, who he quickly became friends with. Zak learned of his plans for a prison break, and insisted he take part in it. After a week of planning, the break occurred, and while some prisoners failed to escape, Zak and Ace did. There, went their separate ways, Zak to Orchid Bay and Ace to "wherever the wind takes me". Upon reaching his house, he opened the door, excited to finally see his family.
Only the place was ransacked, and his family was nowhere to be found. All that remained was a large "M" on his wall.
Since then, Zak has become a recluse, staying out of the sight of anyone he possibly can while maintaining his mission of both saving his family and, of course, fighting Fuse. Due to the injustices done to him by both sides, he holds a certain rancor for both, being very hesitant to assist either side. This, however, seems increasingly likely to change.

Re: Zakary Banks
Well so far the main thing is, his powers could be considered a bit OP and his personalty needs a bit more negative traits.

Re: Zakary Banks
Tweaked it a bit. Made it so he can no longer use fire as a projectile, just as something to increase the damage his sword does.
